Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he “substantially” agrees with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin regarding the collaboration between Dogecoin and Ethereum. Buterin added: “If we can have a secure Doge-to-Ethereum bridge. That would be wonderful.”
Vitalik Buterin Talks Dogecoin and Ethereum Bridge, Elon Musk Agrees
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin talks about a possible collaboration between Ethereum and Dogecoin interview With AI researcher Lex Friedman last week.
Referring to Tesla and SpaceX CEOs repeatedly tweeting about Dogecoin, Friedman said, “There is a force behind someone like Elon Musk driving the development of a cryptocurrency.” He then asked Buterin, “Is there a way to leverage that power and momentum to outperform Ethereum?” Buterin said:
If DOGE somehow wants to bridge Ethereum, and then people can trade DOGE inside looping thousands of times a second, that would be amazing.
“I certainly don’t think Ethereum opposes Dogecoin,” the co-founder emphasized. “I want fans to realize that Ethereum is, at least a little bit, a dog coin in spirit.”
He elaborated: “I think if we can have a secure Doge-to-Ethereum bridge. It will be amazing, and then when Ethereum gets any scalability that works for Ethereum assets, you will be very Will be able to trade wrapped DOGE with low transaction fees and very high speed.”
Commenting on Musk’s action to support Dogecoin, Buterin said: “You’d make a mistake if you describe too much of a refined malice or any deeper motive for the whole process. He’s just a human, and He likes dogs the same way I like dogs.”
Musk then tweeted commenting on the interview:
I quite agree with Vitalik.
Ethereum is currently undergoing an upgrade transition from a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus model to a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) model. Buterin recently explained why the upgrade is taking longer than expected.
“One of the biggest problems I have found with our project is not the technical problems, it is the people related problems… Ethereum is in a better economic position now, but it took us five years to get to where we are now. We’ve had a lot of internal team conflicts in these five years. If you’re building a team, it’s important to know what you’re working with,” said Ethereum co-founder described.
Last month, Musk proposed something improvement For Dogecoin, claiming to have met with Doge developers. Musk wrote: “Ideally, Doge speeds up block times 10X, increases block size 10X and decreases fees 100X. Then it wins hands down.”
