Virtue Poker revealed plans to hold a high-stakes 12-player celebrity poker tournament on its platform, live-streamed on Twitch, with the winner donating the proceeds of the event to their favorite charitable organization.
Celebrity charity tournaments include NXT and giveaway gifts
Virtue poker, One of the first decentralized casinos to use Ethereum and peer-to-peer networking, will soon host a charity poker tournament on its platform. The event on 22 June will be attended by many well-known personalities of the industry with special awards and gifts.
Poker pro players Brian Rast, Poker Hall of Famer Phil Ivey, NBA Hall of Famer Paul Pearce, Consensus co-founder Joe Lubin, Ethernity from crypto entrepreneur Nick Rose and Elliotrades from Superfarm, and other influential people will participate. In addition to celebrities, Virtue will also select three lucky community members to compete at the poker table, each from Ethernity, Virtue Poker and Superfarm.
The event will be a standard no-limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament, with two rounds, with six players per table. After the first round, three players from each table will move on to the final round. The winner will determine the charitable organization that receives income from the event. In addition to charitable work, Virtue Poker, in partnership with Superfarm, will also issue NXT to each celebrity, which will be used as a ‘reward’ during the tournament.
Live-streamed on Twitch and the player’s private channels, the event also includes a number of awards and gifts for viewers. By tuning the live stream and making real-time predictions, viewers can increase their eligibility for the special awards announced during the event.
Consensys incubated Virtue Poker in 2016. Under the leadership of Ryan Gittleson, the decentralized poker platform has been part of several successful funding rounds. It is supported by some of the biggest names in venture capital and private investors, including Pantera Capital, Fenbushi Capital, JRR, and more.
CEO Ryan Gittleson is confident about the upcoming tournament, commenting,
Virtue Poker is excited to take this next step to raise awareness and adopt the world’s first blockchain-based P2P poker platform. Through the execution of our Celebrity Poker Charity Program, Virtue Poker will be able to develop the foundations of our community as well as showcase the stage to a wider audience.
